Laid with care

A table is where the day slows down. We shape the plates, bowls and cups that make that pause feel generous. Honest clay, glazes with real depth, and forms that sit well in the hand and stack well on the shelf.
What we see
Tables where nothing matches too neatly and everything belongs. A chipped favourite sits beside something new, the good plates come out on a Tuesday, and every piece is used every single day.
What we do
Solenne makes dinnerware in small collections, fired in batches and finished by hand. We work with cooks and hosts to get the weight, the rim and the glaze right before a piece earns its place.

From clay
Solenne began at one wheel in a shared studio, with six plates made for a friend's restaurant. The plates outlasted the menu. We have kept the same habits since: test every glaze on real food, and never release a shape we would not eat from ourselves.

What we hold to
Clay comes first
Every collection starts with the clay body. We choose stoneware for its strength and its quiet texture, then build each form around what the material does well instead of forcing it.
Finished by hand
Moulds give us consistency and hands give us character. Each rim is trimmed and each foot is sanded by a person, which is why no two pieces are quite identical.
Glazes with depth
We mix our own glazes and fire them hot, so colour pools in the curves and breaks over the edges. It shifts with the light, and it looks better with food on it.
Made for every day
Dinnerware should be used, not kept for best. Ours stacks neatly, goes in the dishwasher, and is glazed to stand up to knives, forks and years of washing.
